THE WET PANTS

There was a nine year old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there was a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants got wet too.

He thought his heart was going to stop and he couldn’t imagine how this might have happened. It had never happened before. He knew that if the boys find out about it, he will be teased all the time at the school.

When the girls find out, they’ll never speak to him again as long as he lives. The boy put his head down and prayed for a miracle. He knew that if anyone notices what he had done, he will never be able to face anyone in the school anymore.” He looked up and he noticed a teacher who was approaching him.

As the teacher was walking toward him, a classmate named Susie, who was carrying a goldfish bowl filled with water tripped in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumped the bowl of water in the boy’s lap.

The boy pretended to be angry with Susie, but all the while he thanked the situation.

All of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy became the object of sympathy. The teacher took him downstairs and gave him gym shorts to put on while his pants dried out.

All the other children were on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful. But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his was transferred to someone else – Susie. She tried to help, but they told her that it was all her fault.

Finally, at the end of the day, as all the students were waiting for the bus, the boy walked over to Susie and whispered, “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

Susie whispered back, “I wet my pants once too.”

Moral: All of us go through all good and bad things in life. We should always remember how we felt when we were in same condition and should not mock others for being in it. Always try to understand their situation as if you are in it and help much as possible praying to god that today you are in a condition to help someone who needs it.

THE RIGHT TEACHING

Once, there was a renowned monk who lived in a beautiful monastery with many of his pupils. His teachings were known to be very effective and many of his students grew up to become great masters themselves.

One day, one of them was caught stealing from his fellow-students and they reported him to the monk. But he took no action against the boy.

A few days later the same boy was again caught stealing. And again the head monk did nothing to punish him.

This angered the other students who drew up a petition asking for the dismissal of the thief. They threatened to leave en masse if the boy was allowed to stay in the monastery.

The teacher called a meeting of the students. When they had assembled, he said to them: “You are good boys who know what is right and what is wrong. If you leave, you will have no trouble in joining some other school. But what about your brother who does not even know the difference between right and wrong? Who will teach him if I don’t? No, I cannot ask him to go even if it means losing all of you.”

Tears coursed down the cheeks of the boy who had stolen. He never stole again and in later life became renowned for his integrity.

THE FISHERMAN

It was a bright sunny afternoon of the winters in a beautiful beach town . The waves were crawling gently to the shore. A fisherman was sitting near this beautiful seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his cigarette. At that point of time , a rich businessman came walking down the beach. He was trying to relieve some of the stress of his workday. As he passed through that area, he noticed the fisherman sitting under the tree . He got concerned about the fisherman and thought to inquire as to why fisherman was sitting under the tree smoking and not working.  He moved towards the fisherman and approached him.

fisherman and businessman inspiring story

The businessman said to the fisherman, “You aren’t going to catch many fish that way. You should be working rather than sitting here on the beach!

The fisherman looked up at the businessman, smiled and replied, ” I have caught enough fishes for the day.” Hearing the answer, the rich man got a bit annoyed and said, “Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow and wasting your time?”

Fisherman was having shine in eyes and still smiling, he asked, “What would I do by catching more fishes?”

The businessman replied, “Well, you will earn more money and you can get bigger nets.”

Fisherman asked, “What would I do then?”

The businessman answered, “You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat.”

Fisherman asked with full of innocence on his face, “What would I do then after that?

The rich businessman replied, “You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money.”

Fisherman repeated the same, “What would I do then after that?”

Businessman answered, “You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money.”

“What would I do then after that?” asked the fisherman again

By the time, the businessman was beginning to get a little more annoyed with the fisherman’s repetitive question. He said, “You could become a rich businessman like me.”

Fisherman asked once again the same thing, “What would I do then after that?”

Businessman replied, “Once you become rich, you will never have to work hard for your living for the rest of your life!  You could then live and enjoy your life peacefully without worries.  You can spend all the rest of your days sitting on this beach, enjoying the cool breeze.

The fisherman, still smiling, looked up and asked the businessman, “And what do you think ? Isn’t that what I’m doing right now?”

The rich business was speechless.

Moral of the inspiring Story

You don’t need to wait for tomorrow to be happy and enjoy your life. LIFE is at this moment, live in the present moment and enjoy it fully.

We spend the majority of our lives working, but we seem to forget what we’re working for. As a result, many of us prioritize money, work, and success over family and friends. Such people keep running throughout life for money, power and status. To enjoy your life, you don’t need to be more rich, more powerful and have more status . You need to spend quality time along with your family and best friends. You need to spend time on thing which you love to do.

Happiness lies in small small things of life. Small things and simple things makes you happy. Spending Five more minutes with your kids or family may make you happy which you won’t get from thousands of dollars. Don’t Chase Happiness. Recognize It. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. You need to find out the same with in you.

Well, it does not mean that money and hard work is not important. Both of these are a necessary part of life, and the fisherman is evidently a hard worker. But rather than making work his life, the fisherman treasures his family and friends. He has made fair work life balance.

What do you feel ?

Over to you now, What do you feel ? Do you focus more on work or money than your family and friends?  If so, take a pause, and rethink about what you’re actually working for.

True Value Of Life

A man went to God and asked, “What’s the value of life?”
God gave him one stone and said, “Find out the value of this stone, but don’t sell it.”
The man took the stone to an Orange Seller and asked him what it’s cost would be.

The Orange Seller saw the shiny stone and said, “You can take 12 oranges and give me the stone.”
The man apologized and said that the God has asked him not to sell it.

He went ahead and found a vegetable seller. “What could be the value of this stone?” he asked the vegetable seller. The seller saw the shiny stone and said, “Take one sack of potatoes and give me the stone.”

The man again apologized and said he can’t sell it.
Further ahead, he went into a jewellery shop and asked the value of the stone.

The jeweler saw the stone under a lens and said, “I’ll give you 50 Lakhs for this stone.” When the man shook his head, the jeweler said, “Alright, alright, take 2 crores, but give me the stone.”
The man explained that he can’t sell the stone. Further ahead, the man saw a precious stone’s shop and asked the seller the value of this stone.

When the precious stone’s seller saw the big ruby, he lay down a red cloth and put the ruby on it. Then he walked in circles around the ruby and bent down and touched his head in front of the ruby.
“From where did you bring this priceless ruby from?” he asked. “Even if I sell the whole world, and my life, I won’t be able to purchase this priceless stone.

Stunned and confused, the man returned to the God and told him what had happened. “Now tell me what is the value of life, God?

God said, “The answers you got from the Orange Seller, the Vegetable Seller, the Jeweler & the Precious Stone’s Seller explain the value of our life… You may be a precious stone, even priceless, but people may value you based on their level of information, their belief in you, their motive behind entertaining you, their ambition, and their risk taking ability. But don’t fear, you will surely find someone who will discern your true value.”

In the eyes of God you are very very precious. Respect yourself. You are Unique. No one can Replace you!
